Who's Who at NEW

Taking care of customers in the upper Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and Canada, Tucker has been with New England Wire for over 16 years.  He has worked in all aspects of the Sales Department during his career from sales support, to inside sales, and currently is a Regional Sales Manager.

We recently interviewed Tucker and thought you would enjoy learning a bit more about him and his life at and outside of NEWT!

Q:  What is your favorite thing about your career?

TC:  I love traveling and meeting my customers face-to-face.  I’ve developed some great relationships with my customers and really enjoy seeing and understanding the end-use and applications that our wire and cable is used in.

Q:  What motivates you to work hard?

TC:  Making sure that my customers are taken care of is my first priority.  It’s important to me that they feel that their needs are being met thoroughly and in a timely manner.  For me, knowing my customers are happy is a huge motivator.  Of course, I also like to compete with my twin brother, Owen, (who also is a Regional Sales Manager at NEWT) over who has the biggest sales bookings each month.  We love to get after each other and push each other to do our best.

Q:  What are your hobbies?

TC:  I enjoy doing anything outdoors – especially hunting, fishing, Jeeping, golfing, and having cookouts in the summer.

Q:  What makes you laugh the most?

TC:  That would be my daughter, Tayler.  She is 10 and comes out with the craziest things!  She makes me laugh every day.

Q:  What did you want to be when you were small?

TC:  Ha ha!  You won’t believe this, but I wanted to be a dentist when I was little!  For some reason, I thought that would just be the perfect job for me!

Q:  What is your favorite game or sport to watch or play?

TC:  I love watching football.  The Chicago Bears are my favorite professional football team.  I also really enjoy playing baseball and lately I’ve been working on my golf game.

Q:  What song would you sing at Karaoke night?

TC:  Well, the first song I ever sang for Karaoke was “Elvira” by The Oak Ridge Boys, but I probably wouldn’t do a repeat performance of that one.  I think I’d go with “Back in Black” by AC/DC.

(Note: if we’re lucky enough to catch Tucker performing, we’ll be sure to post a video!)

Q:  If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

TC:  Oh, that’s easy!  Cheesecake!  Any type, any flavor – but no WALNUTS!

Q:  Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

TC:  That’s a tough one…I guess I’d have to admit it would probably be my cell phone.

Q:  If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

TC:  There are so many super powers I’d like to have!  I always thought I wanted the power of invisibility, but now I think I’d rather have X-ray vision (wink, wink).

Q:  What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

TC:  Anything with peanut butter in it!  Peanut butter cup ice cream is my absolute favorite!
