Manufacturing Careers are Cool!

On March 10, 2016 New England Wire Technologies participated in the annual career fair at the Littleton High School. Laura Mullikan, Bob Cotter and Joshua Spaulding represented New England Wire at the fair, which was established to provide students from Littleton, Lisbon and Profile High Schools with opportunities to work in various career clusters including: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Education & Training, Health Science, Hospitality & Tourism, Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, Engineering and Transportation as well as many others.

Approximately 300 students attended the event with the anticipation of finding both internships and full time employment after high school. New England Wire Technologies offers internships in Manufacturing, Environmental Health and Safety, Quality Control and Information Technology and saw a lot of interest, especially in the Manufacturing and Machining internships. This year’s representatives attended with a tradeshow display, a computer demonstration made by previous interns and numerous samples to attract the attention of the students.

The students were also very well prepared. Many attendees “dressed for success” and came to the event knowing exactly which businesses they wanted to speak with. This fostered great discussions with the students about the details of the work they could be doing, not only for New England Wire Technologies, but for all the businesses involved. We look forward to selecting the interns and seeing their many talents applied to our company.
