The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for providing engineering assistance for the manufacture of specialty wire products, under the direction of the Manufacturing Process Manager. They will assist in identifying opportunities to implement changes to improve products and/or reduce costs using knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling and production equipment, quality control standards, product design, and materials/parts. The candidate will learn all production processes within the Wire Drawing department. Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Electronic Controls Engineer:
The candidate selected for this position will support the electronic controls activities throughout the NEWTC facility, to include layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems. Also responsible for debugging, design, improvement and training associated with existing or new equipment, either manufactured by suppliers or fabricated in-house. Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
The candidate selected for this position will design electrical cables to meet customer needs, will work with the Sales Department and/or customers to understand design requirements, will assist in the manufacturing of such products and will provide necessary test plans, when required, to confirm reliability of manufactured products. Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
The candidate selected for this position will be a self-motivated individual, with strong math and communication skills. He/she will be responsible for supporting customers and working with our manufacturing reps. Responsibilities include quoting existing part numbers and working with engineering to define special product requirements, performing related order preparation, quote follow-up, and expediting orders. This position will involve customer interaction via email and telephone, as well as during customer visits to our facility, and may involve travel including overnight absences from home and office. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by New England Wire. Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Executive Administrative Assistant:
The candidate selected for this position will perform highly confidential diversified secretarial and administrative duties including typing; composing letters, memos and reports; administering retirement plans; operating computer; answering telephone; responding to inquiries and taking meeting minutes. Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Janitor (2nd shift):
This position entails the performance of general janitorial duties within the plant and office, including mopping, sweeping, removal of trash, vacuuming, floor wax stripping, cleaning restrooms, washing windows and walls, and other related duties as required or as directed. Moderate to heavy lifting required. Must be able to work from stepladder, on occasion. Strong organizational skills preferred as well as attention to detail. Physical activities required, but not limited to, include bending, twisting, turning, kneeling, pushing, pulling, walking, climbing, and working overhead. Hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM. Occasional Saturday work is required.
Machine Operators & Manufacturing Support Staff:
Multiple Manufacturing Machine Operator positions available in a variety of departments including Plating, Drawing, Braiding, Bunching, Stranding, Cabling, and Extrusion (HOURS: 2nd shift 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM and 3rd shift 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
REQUIREMENTS of machine operator/support staff positions generally include/may include:
• Good mechanical ability, attention to detail and the ability to problem solve and trouble shoot
• Good manual dexterity and visual acuity
• Medium lifting
• Ability to differentiate colors
• Ability to reach overhead, kneel, and stand for long periods
• Basic computer skills
