The problem confronted by engineers is when certain medical applications require that custom cable jackets be cleaned by wiping the surface with solvents. Industrial and commercial solvents may stretch and distort conventional silicone rubber jackets during the cleaning process. NEWtuf ® reinforced jackets, with a peak strength three times that of conventional silicone rubber, withstand axial forces without reducing flexibility. High temperature electronic wire utilizing NEWtuf ® reinforced jackets retains its high tensile strength and low elongation characteristics, is autoclavable, highly flexible and retains excellent high-temperature integrity.
