New England Wire, an industry-leading electric wire manufacturer, was founded in 1898 in response to the birth of the telecommunication age. Our founders correctly anticipated the great demand that telephony would place on the market for magnet wire, a key component of the telephone. They sought out and purchased a design for a new type of custom wire and cable machine that wrapped an insulating thread of silk or cotton fiber around fine copper wire. Thus, a new electric wire manufacturer was born and formed around this specialty manufacturing process.

Our founders selected the northern New Hampshire town of Lisbon as a location for their new facility. The town welcomed the new venture with an enthusiastic and skilled work force eager to learn this new business. In fact, many townspeople invested their own capital to help finance the construction of the original custom wire and cable factory. As a result, generation after generation of Lisbon, New Hampshire craftsmen has contributed to the growth of New England Wire Technologies. Today, we are proud of the fact that loyal and dedicated employees hold the majority ownership of the company.As the commercial demand for custom cables and litz wire of all types grew, the company expanded its capabilities to include flat braided wire, stranding, drawing and plastic extrusion, as well as producing copper and copper alloy-based wire with unique characteristics manufactured to exacting specifications. Decades of research, testing and development, combined with a continuing commitment to expand and improve on its custom cables and wire manufacturing processes, have positioned New England Wire Technologies as the leader for custom wire and cable manufacturing. Today, the company enjoys the dedicated loyalty of a workforce of over three hundred custom wire and cable technicians, craftsmen and support personnel.

New England Wire Technologies Plant Expansion
New England Wire Technologies continues to invest in and expand its custom wire and cable facilities to meet the current and future needs of our customers. Our new plant expansion began in September 2000 and was completed in December 2001. The expansion added 118,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space bringing the total facilities in Lisbon, NH to 335,000 square feet.
The keys to our success as an electric wire manufacturer lies in the variety of custom cables we manufacture, including multiconductor cable, flat braided wire, high temperature electronic wire, litz wire and other specialty wire manufacturing, the expertise and dedication of our workforce, and the variety and flexibility of our custom wire and cable equipment.
Our technical staff expertly assists our customers in the development and testing of all our multiconductor cable, litz wire and custom cable assemblies. Every operator of a custom wire and cable machine is a skilled craftsman with the necessary experience and knowledge to independently gather components, configure custom wire and cable machinery and monitor quality control, all while regularly completing several production runs in a single work day.
